Brazilian Cheese Balls
Get ready to fall in love with Brazilian Cheese Bread—aka Pão de Queijo—a warm, bite-sized sensation that’s all crispy on the outside and soft, cheesy, and chewy on the inside. They're also gluten free! Not that you'd be on this site if you couldn't eat gluten but just incase.
INGREDIENTS
- 2 cups tapioca flour (can use tapioca starch)
- 1/4 cup shredded parmesan
- 1/4 cup shredded cheddar
- 1/4 cup shredded gruyere
- 1/4 cup shredded mozzarella
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional, for extra flavor)
- 1/4 tsp cayenne (optional, for heat)
- 2 large eggs
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Preheat and Prepare:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a mini muffin tin or a standard muffin tin with non-stick spray or butter. You can also use silicone molds if you have them.
2. Prepare the Wet Ingredients:
- In a blender, blend all ingredients until a smooth pancake batter-like texture forms.
3. Fill the Muffin Tin:
- Spoon the batter into the prepared muffin tin, filling each cup about 3/4 of the way full.
4. Bake:
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese bread is puffed up, golden brown on top, and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
5. Serve:
- Let the cheese bread cool slightly before serving. They’re best enjoyed fresh out of the oven, but they’ll still be delicious at room temperature.
